Zion Scenic Route Mar 19

The Zion Scenic Route is 8 miles long and at this time of year is only open to the shuttle bus as there is not sufficient parking spaces for cars. The shuttle which passes very frequently is included in your entrance and you can get on and off at anyone of the 9 stops.

The Zion Lodge, where you can book your stay.
Hiking along the trail towards the narrows

These scruffy mule deer are loosing their winter coats

The Virgin River runs the entire length of this canyon

Near the far end of the hike you have to walk through the river
They charge an extra $60.00 to rent the waders and a walking stick
This is the peak that shows up in most of the promotional material
There are signs every where to not feed the squirrels
 but they are every where
Hike to Emerald ponds

The falls at the lower pond
Now where is my next step

The upper pond with snow still at the bottom. I mistakenly deleted a great
picture of this pond with all of the hikers hanging out after the climb

There were rock climbers scaling this peak

There is a climber at the arrow

There he is

Wow ... that is so amazing and interesting. The trails that I see seem easy to walk; perhaps there are other ascents/descents that aren't so pleasant. I'm delighted to live through your pictures for my visit to Zion!
