You have to drive through the Yuma Proving Ground to get there, a US army training area. I got a kick out of the picture of the boy and the girl getting blown up |
This area of Arizona was mined for silver and lead from 1860 until around 1970 |
Castle Dome is a reconstructed the mining town, but its a bit over rated I would say. They offer an under ground tour that we discovered was an extra $75 US per person, too rich for our taste |

Driving at 10 mph would be a bit challenging - faster than hiking though!
The dentist's office looks like it's a corner of the general store, with the cash register and roll of brown paper.
It's good that the Sheriff's job wasn't too busy that day - time to catch up on the international news!
