Feb 7 Anza- Borrego Desert Visitors Center

The desert is filled with hundreds of different plants. In the last two weeks we have seen a big change as they are getting ready to bloom. In about another 2-3 weeks most will be in bloom. We spent time at the visitors center touring the garden and learning about the diffferent plants.

The visitors center is built in the side of the hill so it is cool in the summer. There are gardens and walkways on top of the building

Ganders Cholla Cactus

Cat Claw

Diamond Cholla

Teddy Bear Cholla

Ocotillo

Burro Bush

Desert Prickly Pear

Mohave Yucca

Jojoba

Wow ... I'd need a lot of sun screen and a very wide hat to work in that garden. I wonder what the Teddy Bear Cholla or the Ocotillo would do in a hard dry corner of my garden. They look interesting.
