Ryan Mountain, one of the most popular hikes in Joshua Tree, is a 3.3 mile (5.5 klm ) hike with a 1050 feet of elevation (320 m), non stop climbing from top to bottom. A real good cardio workout.
Ryan Mountain
Maybe 25% of the trail is steps
That is 2 people on top of the rock. They must be rock climbers.
winding up the side of the mountain
view from the top
sitting on top of the world
starting the descent

Well, I'm pleased you did Ryan Mountain! It looks like quite the hike. Steps are helpful! It looks like the steps are stone; I'm guessing they have been 'carved' naturally by the many walkers over the years, rather than any being placed to make steps. Awesome views. Good that there were others on the trail.

Some of the steps were natural from walking but many were man made.
