Feb 18 Panorama Loop Hike

The Panorama Loop hike is 6.6 miles (10.6 klm) with an elevation of 1100 feet ( 336 m).
There is about a 2 mile gradual incline on  good path before you start the climb up to he rim

we found pine cones , what a surprise.
they are called Pinyon Pines

A look back at the town of Joshua Tree in the distance.
There is always a haze in the air when you look at some thing in the distance. 30 or 40 years ago they say this haze didn't exist
the highest point on the trail

It doesn't matter where you are in the park there are always mountains on at least 3 sides

The snow capped peak is Great Bear Mountain

On the walk down we went through a valley for about 1/2 a mile

The famous Joshua Tree . They won't bloom for about another month

It was amazing how many were damaged. Branches broken off. They must have had a serious windstorm here in the recently.
