He took Rose and I for a tour of the bay area in his boat , and the highlight was a resort that some one built way of the main road , but you could get there with a 4x4. Some one spent a major amount of money on this as it was built with the best materials, but there has been none there for the last 5 years at least.
There were two Yurts like this fully furnished with bedrooms, sitting areas, and every thing you would need to just move in. |
Stainless steel frames etc, still in perfect condition even though they have not been used in the last 5 years. |
This straw covered shelter beside the beach still had all of the dining furniture in it so you could entertain by the water |
The roof of the beach gazebo, beautiful workmanship |
The dining table had carved trim and legs, worth a few thousand dollars, I am sure. |
The fireplace / BBQ |
Sink and serving area |
The view from the gazebo |
The most remarkable part of this story is that there was an unlocked building
with 2 large portable generators and a pressure water system in it.
Peoples opinion of Mexico is very distorted.
How long do you thing that the furniture and generators would last
in a place like this in Canada or the USA

Congratulations to your neighbour on celebrating his 90th birthday! Wow - what an inspiration!
It would be interesting to learn more about the story/history of the abandoned 'resort' in the pictures you posted.
