Jan 3 Port Huron to Collingsville Illinois

Our day started with a surprise. I got up early.. When the coffee was ready I started the engine to get the windows clean and then proceeded to bring in the slide out. Nothing would happen. Eventually figured that there is a safety built into the system so you cannot operate the slide out with the engine running.. Still learning about our new gypsy wagon. ( A bit stressful while I figured that out).
Rose was able to crawl back into bed until it was time for breakfast a couple of hundred kilometers later.
Today we covered a lot of kilometers because Rose took a couple of 45 minute shifts driving. What a great help .
Gas is around 2.46 to 2.50 per gallon which is about .89 per liter. Nice savings. Last year it was 2.35 per gallon.
Illinois is farm country. The fields stretch for kilometers.  Corn and beef country.
A couple of more days like today and we will be in Phoenix or at least Arizona and then the pace will slow.
