We have spent the last couple of days just taking it easy and doing a bit of walking along the Gila River canals. The BLM is located at n32.44.288 w 114.25.735. Yesterday we went to the Yuma swap meet to poke around and see it we could find a few treasures. ( No such luck) . In the evening we sat around the camp fire with David and Cynthia from Kingston, Scott and Jocelyn from 100 mile house BC, Reg from Chiliwack and Reg from some place in BC. Lots of stories and history. Reg has been coming here for over 25 years.
We took a drive up to Mittry Lake which is on BLM (Bureau of Land management) land, which also has free camping. This area area is limited to a 10 day per year stay. It is pretty nice but maybe 20 miles out side of Yuma so a lot further to travel if you want to go site seeing of shopping.

| We drove through miles and miles of vegetable fields such as this. They clainmthat 80% of the produce for North America comes from this area in the winter. |

| This is all produced in an area that recieves only 3-4 inches of rain per year. 100% irrigation from the Colorado river. With climate change this is an accident waiting to happen. |

| A bit hard to see but that canal of water on the left is how the water is moved for miles and miles from the Colorado to the fields and all controlled by dams. From these canals it is pumped onto the fields. When the farm requires water they order it by the foot acres, which is an acre (43,280 sq feet) and one foot deep. |

Just taking a moment to look at your trip. My brother inlaw spent a winter Yuma a few years ago. He loved it. Saw your picture sitting on the shore of a lake, did you bring your fly fishing stuff and your wadders. You know just for some training for our yearly trip in June.
Will keep looking periodically at your travel.

Didn't bring my fishing stuff, but it would have been cool if you and I could have sat there under that palm tree and and just spent the afternoon telling fishing stories.

Thanks for stopping bye for a visit to the site. I didn't bring any fishing gear because non resident permits are really expensive for the small amount of times that I would use it. Don't want to fish with out one as we are really close to Mr Trumps mexican wall. If I got caught they might try to throw me over the wall , and with my luck I would get caught in the barbed wire and they would leave me there. LOL ( just kidding every one is super friendly here)
