Feb 14 Sunday. Cameron

Cameron is located on the Gulf of Mexico. Most of the shrimp fishing is done around here.

All of the houses are built like this because of the frequent flooding.

Fishing here is done on a commercial scale with large boats
as compared to in the bayous where they harvest the catfish
in the shallow waters with flat bottom boats

We met a couple at this restaurant from Kincardine, while we were having lunch. He was working out of Lake Charles for Sasoil. His wife was had joined him for the month of February.

This refuge had a 3 mile road around it. You had to drive, you were not allowed
to even get out of your car to take pictures

They claimed to have over 300 different kinds of birds here. Many just passing through or had come from the north for the winter. That is a pink flamingo in the picture. There was a large flock of snow geese.

A delicious shrimp dinner purchased from a fisherman in Cameron.
Unfortunately Rose can't eat shrimp so I got a second helping
