March 16 to 18 Texas to Little AR

Cotton, Solar pannels, wind mills, and oil wells

there are 1000's of acres of cotton grown in the area  east of Hobbs.
a lot is irrigated, but in some areas the fields of cotton were also
full of windmills. and  oil wells. 3 crops from one field

It is interesting for a red state, like texas which is renowned for its oil, when you drive through the north part of the state you see wind mills in every direction for as far as you cans see.  This year we are passing through the souther part and it is pretty much the same. Wind mills every where. They had over 15,300 wind mills in 2023. Texas is the top wind power state in the USA , generating 28% of its power from wind in 2023.

Bad picture of the solar field, but it covered a few square miles along
highway 20. Texas got 6 percennt of its power from solar in 2023

We didn't see many cattle until we got closer to the north east part, past Dallas , Fort Worth area where the terrain is more rolling ,and not sutable for crops.

This camper pulled in beside us for the night. The couple live and work full time in it. They built it with a 1994 army truck but bought the camper to mount on the truck. It had every gadget and rack imaginable, and was designed to go over virtually any terrain and 5 feet deep water.

not sure he had a very clear vision while driving.

I think that vehicle would catch my attention if I saw it on a road!
