St Jovite to St Gabrielle-de-Brandon

We drove to St Donat and stopped for lunch and  5.3 klm hike .
This area is perfect recreational space. Rugged , dotted with lakes every where.

The hiking trail is a cross country ski trail in the winter

Toured around this little town for a bit, not much to do so we moved on.

We had planned to camp at the town beach in St. Gabriel de brandon but when we arrived they told us that due to the Covid we were not allowed to stay overnight.  The city employee at the beach recommended a place to stay at a retail store in town so we moved there. Good spot.

As we drove from St Donat the terrain changed to rolling farm land. Big dairy operations and lots of poultry farms

Visited Mont Tremblant Resort

The resort was very quiet. A few people around but certainly not normal.

The casino. They didn't get any of my money

We rode the  cabriolet ( gondola ) to the base of the hill.

View of a hotel swimming pool from the gondola

For $22.50 you can rent a luge and take it up the gondola to the top of the hill and ride it down a plastic luge track.  Looked like a lot of fun.

On the road again We will be touring from Mont-Tremblant to east of Quebec city , not sure how far we will get

Stopped in a nice little park in Amer and then walked down town , not much to see , but a beautiful day for walking

Stopped for lunch in a little park in town and them walked down town. Not much to see but a nice day for a walk

Stopped in Brebeuf on the main corner n town for about an hour. More antique and flea market stuff.

We walked  along a bicycle path for a while. As when we were in Granby the bicycle trails are out standing. Paved with a center line, and repair stations at all of the main intersections with air, tools and a rack to hold  your bike while you are working on it.

Spent the night at the recreational center. Perfect spot. Quiet and out of the way. Once the sports finished around 10 pm. we had the whole area to ourselves.

March 12 Gallup

Visited the Meteor Crater and and on to Gallup

We needed an oil change that became became a project. Loves only do larger units, they sent me to Walmart who didn't have a high enough door, they sent me to Pep Boys , but their door wasn't high enough , they sent me to Point S who does their heavy equipment but their lift didn't have enough clearance  for our door step, they who sent me to Jiffy Lube who did a great job. The best part was that everyone really did a good job of helping us out to find another place to help us out.

We had to change our air filter because there was a mouse nest in it. To funny, the staff had me remove it as they didn't want to touch it. Lots of laughs !!

A visit to Meteor Crater

The world's best preserved meteorite impact site on Earth.  Located just minutes from Interstate 40 and the old Route 66 in Northern Arizona near Winslow.  Meteor Crater is the spectacular result of a collision that rocked the American Southwest approximately 50,000 years ago with the energy of more than 20 million tons of TNT.
