Feb 9 Fiddle festival Ajo AZ

They had competitions for all ages from peewee to seniors over 80, and everything in between.

The entrance was only $5.00, and free camping in the golf course parking lot. Both Friday night and Saturday they had a dance with the competitors providing the entertainment with both muscic and vocals. The performers changed every 10 minutes so lots of variety.

The youngest competitor was 7 years old

Our friends Lou and Zena Menard from Kamloops BC are traveling with us.

Feb 7 2025 Ajo Fiddle festival and competition

Ajo (population 3000) holds a fiddle competition each February. Players come to compete but mostly just to hang out and have a good weekend of fun and camaraderie.
On Friday afternoon they have a free concert in the Plaza in the middle of town.

about 20 people were playing guitars, banjos, and of course fiddles

The people brought their lawn chairs and enjoyed an afternoon of music on a beautiful  lawn under the palm trees in 25 degree weather.
